Last Thursday, our iVenture teams took their ideas on the road! Chicago’s annual Tech Week, a startup competition event, complete with a large expo, informative summits and lots of networking opportunities! Six of our teams (Amber Ag, ExoWear, Cast21, Tweetsense, GroupScale, and Therapalz) competed for a spot in the finals during the Tech Week expo at the Merchandise Mart on Thursday. Our remaining six teams spent their day listening to the other startup’s pitches, networking, and listening to the many speaking engagements, held at the under group supper club, Untitled.

Once the teams wrapped up their expo exhibits, some students headed over to GoGo’s office space, where they enjoyed a rooftop networking event. Over delicious appetizers, a great view and even better company, the students were able to meet new people while talking about their ventures and bond with the other iVenture members. It was a perfect way to wrap up a busy day!

On Friday, iVenture headed back to the Merchandise Mart to have a tour and networking event with MATTER, a healthcare incubator. We were able to participate in their “Meet your Neighbor” event, where MATTER startups share their venture and answer questions from the audience. Healthcare teams stayed for a small networking event while the other went back to Untitled to watch the Tech Week Finals.
