University of Illinois alum Kevin Price opened the doors of his industrial, three floor office and sales space to talk with our cohort about his experiences as an entrepreneur launching Trunk Club. After telling his story about the way this small company grew, the hard work that has gone into this venture, and the many wins they’ve had on their road to their acquisition by Nordstrom, students were able to ask questions. They spoke with him about the importance of work life balance, his tactics to stay on top of challenging tasks, and the method in which he hires. The iVenture teams were able to gain insight on how small businesses can steadily and grow in a sustainable way, and how he chooses to run his business.

Later that evening, students gathered in the bar area of Trunk Club with other University of Illinois alumnae of the Illini Startup Group to talk about their respective ventures and gain meaningful connections. We were joined by over fifty Illinois entrepreneurs
from the Chicago area.
